Our Story

Guildford Craft Collective began with a simple idea — a shared love of creativity and a group of children who loved making things.

We’re three mums who met through our children attending the same local school, and quickly discovered we had something in common: a passion for arts and crafts and creative backgrounds of our own. What started as conversations at the school gates soon turned into something more, and before long we were hosting arty playdates and running a lunchtime craft club together.

Seeing how much the children enjoyed those sessions — the excitement, the imagination, and the pride in what they created — inspired us to grow. We wanted to create even more opportunities for children to explore their creativity, which is how Guildford Craft Collective’s after-school classes and holiday workshops came to life.

Our aim is to provide a safe, nurturing space where children can relax, express themselves, and build confidence through art. We believe creativity should be accessible to every child, and that there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to make something — just the joy of trying, exploring, and discovering.

As parents ourselves, we understand how important it is to feel that your children are in safe hands. We are all fully DBS checked, and every session is led with care and attention, with at least one fully qualified paediatric first aider in the room at all times.

Above all, we want every child who joins us to feel welcome, supported, and inspired — whether they’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or already love getting creative.

We’re so excited to begin this next chapter and can’t wait to meet your little ones.

Meet the team

Hi, I'm Alex. Art was always my favourite subject growing up and I've carried that passion through my life, into my degree in art history and a career in museums and galleries. Through organising and facilitating workshops what has become really clear to me is that abolutely everyone benefits from time spent in creativity! I am so excited to help create a space where kids can make experimenting with art a regular part of their lives. I'm a mum of two and I love to craft with my own kids. I continue to draw and paint in my own time and also paint murals whenever I get the chance @frankieandmars

Hey, I'm Immy. I've always loved art - from a young age through to studying it at university. I then trained as a makeup artist before moving into early years education, where I've worked in nursery and school settings as a teaching assistant, nursery teacher and art lead.

I'm also a mum of two, and creativity is a big part of my every day life. I love how much joy creativity can bring and  I want everyone to experience that. Alongside this, I also run fun, feel-good craft events for adults - you can follow along @glitterpopcraft.

Hi, I'm Jess. With an artist for a dad, I grew up surrounded by colour, exhibitions, and creativity. After studying at university in London  and working several years in Canary Wharf, I launched @paperclippenguin, a greeting card business selling my designs in independent shops and on Etsy.

Now as a mum of two lovely girls and working part‑time in a school office, I’m excited to stay connected to the creative world through our craft club — helping children explore ideas, build confidence, and enjoy the fun of art. I find it inspiring seeing their uninhibited fearless creations.
